For Avery's 2nd Birthday...



I Think We'll Make Her A BIG Sister!

Avery's lil' sibling due in November 2013


Avery aka "Big Sis" at 1 Day old.  
Thank you again for loving Avery and for your immense support.  We ask that you please continue to share Avery's story by updating your social networks, e-mailing all of your contacts, and talking to your friends/co-workers.   The more people who are aware of SMA, the less likely future children will be affected by SMA, and the more likely there will be a cure for Avery's friends who already have SMA!

    OMG Yes! Avery's wish has come true. This is such wonderful news! I've been following this blog since the very beginning and have already shed sad tears for you many times, but this time, it's tears of joy. I know Avery is happy, as is mommy and daddy!     This is the first time I have posted, though I have a living reminder of what an inspiration Avery and her story were to my wife and I. My wife first read about baby Avery and then had me read the blog. Both of us were in tears for days. A few months later we found out that my wife was pregnant. My daughter was born 12/12/12. We named her Avery Layne Morrison in memory of the amazing little girl and her family that showed the world that you should make every day worth living.

    Congratulations and best wishes!

    I've had Avery's picture as my computer wallpaper since April 2012. Those who see it always ask "who's the cute baby?" and I use that as an opportunity to share her story and talk about SMA (and I can now add the great news about Dr. Kaspar's SMA Gene Therapy program being FDA approved!)

    I'm really looking forward to adding a picture of Avery's sibling to my wallpaper next to hers.
